Washington DC Botanical Gardens Surprise Proposal Photography
Captured this surprise proposal recently in the tropics exhibit at The Botanical Gardens in Washington DC! During the day of the surprise proposal it was raining outside so we had to change to an indoor location. The botanical gardens made a great spot covered from the rain and cold of winter. The tropics exhibit was humid but at the time is was the spot with the least amount of tourist and most ideal location was up on the walkway. After the marriage proposal we walked through all the exhibits to capture portraits. The botanical gardens is a great indoor location for surprise proposals during the winter or a plan B in case of rain outdoors. Other great indoor location include: The National Gallery of Art, National Portrait Gallery, Library of Congress and Union Station.

By proposing in front of The Tidal Basin you can avoid larger crowds of tourist. After the surprise marriage proposal we walked to the sides of the memorial to capture portraits.
