Baltimore Fort Mchenry Surprise Proposal
Baltimore Fort Mchenry Surprise Proposal
Baltimore has a lot of great locations for a surprise proposal! Check out this recent surprise proposal we photographed at Fort Mchenry!
Fort McHenry is a historic star-shaped fort located in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. It's best known for its role in the War of 1812, specifically for its defense during the Battle of Baltimore in September 1814. This battle marked a turning point in the war and inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem "Defence of Fort M'Henry," which later became the lyrics for the United States national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner."
During the Battle of Baltimore, the British Navy bombarded the fort for 25 hours, but the fort's defenders held strong, refusing to surrender. This resilience earned Fort McHenry a place in American history as a symbol of patriotism and national pride.
Today, Fort McHenry is a national monument and historic shrine, managed by the National Park Service. Visitors can explore the fort's grounds, museum exhibits, and watch demonstrations of historic military drills. The fort offers guided tours, educational programs, and events to help visitors learn about its significance in American history.
