Capitol Hill Engagement Session

I photographed Brian & Nora’s surprise proposal earlier last year and was excited to meet with them for their engagement photos! They decided to do a casual session around Capitol Hill in their neighborhood and with their dog! There was so many cute spots all within walking distance to capture the area they called home! Washington DC Event Photographer - IAVA #StormTheHill

The first week of March 2020 I spent 4 full days with IAVA for their annual “Storm The Hill” on Capitol Hill. I worked with IAVA to update head shots for all their staff and attendees as well as photograph each days events from meetings to senate hearings. Each day I delivered images on site for immediate use for social media and press use. Getting images to clients quickly is a top priority in making their message a success.

Washington DC Capitol Hill Coffee Shop Surprise Proposal

This surprise proposal in The Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington DC was right outside of the local coffee shop where Homy & Dana had their first date! During a week around Capitol Hill he stopped to propose in front of the coffee shop and I stood at the perfect angle to capture the shot! After the proposal we walked around to get some photos with the fall color and in front of The Library of Congress and Capitol Building! When choosing a surprise proposal location its a great idea to consider locations that have meaning to you as a couple! Think about your first date location, the spot of your first kiss, the spot where you said “I love you” for the first time, or perhaps a spot that you visit often such as a local park.
