The gardens have 80 acres of space including sections like the Central Garden (with things like the Four Seasons Garden, Healing Garden, Sunken Garden, arbor walk, etc.), Rose Garden, Asian Valley, Children’s Garden, Victorian Garden, Woodland, and Conservatory. The Kennedy Center rooftop terrace is open to the public and has great views of the Potomac River one one side and the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial from another side! There are lot’s of great options for views for engagement photos or a surprise proposal here! Consider proposing at sunset for great light! For sunset time: photographing in the direction of the water and Georgetown works best to get the golden hour light!
