Great Falls Park Surprise Proposal
Great Falls Park is an 800-acre National Park area along the Potomac River in Fairfax County, Virginia, about 15 miles from Washington, D.C. The views from the overlook make for an amazing location for a surprise proposal or engagement photos! From the Virginia side at overlook 3, I photographed this surprise proposal! There are three overlooks that give different views of the falls. Overlook 2 and 3 are more easily accessible; Overlook 1 is more rugged (wet/slippery rocks etc.) but gets you closer. Overlook 3 has the best view but is farthest from parking!

Located adjacent to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), it's a famous spot for watching planes land and take off due to its unique proximity to the airport's runway. Visitors also enjoy the park for picnics, biking on the Mount Vernon Trail, and waterfront views of the Potomac River and the Washington, D.C. skyline.
Roosevelt Island

La Grande Boucherie in DC is located at 699 14th Street on the corner of 14th and G Street NW, La Grande Boucherie is situated on the most high-profile street in Washington D.C., only a block away from the White House. The restaurant is built in elegant and ornamental Art Nouveau style, evoking the sense of optimism from the turn of the 20th century. The brasserie’s menu features both classic and modern French dishes, with focus on the meat program, raw bar and extravagant large-format meats, ideal for sharing and celebrating. Mahogany wood and glass partitions divide the gargantuan space to create intimate dining experiences. The main dining room highlights a massive curved bar with a metal top imported from Paris, a signature piece of Boucherie. The Mary Livingston Ripley Garden is a quiet garden for countless visitors to the National Mall each year. Its unusual curvilinear design—the work of noted Washington, D.C., architect Hugh Newell Jacobsen—along with many flowers in raised beds, creates a distinctive sense of intimacy and informality. The garden’s ‘goal’ is to expose visitors to a wide variety of plants and inspire people to expand their plant palette. In the garden’s early years, Smithsonian staff transplanted euonymus from the family home of Smithsonian Secretary S. Dillon Ripley in Litchfield, Connecticut, to form the east wall’s espaliers.
